“Shane, before we leave… do you mind taking a few images of me?”
We wrap up Heather and Adam’s engagement shoot and I walk Madison over to this abandoned building.
“Ok Madison, you know how I work… start walking slowly toward me and I’ll guide you.”
Madison, thank you.
Much of my work wouldn’t be possible without your steady hands on the lighting.
I’m grateful for each shoot you’ve joined me on.
The work I create often requires the hands of at least one assistant.
They help set up.
Move gear.
Adjust lighting.
And in this case… keep the little ones occupied while I focus on the parents.
In time they learn my quarks and anticipate what I’ll need.
And that allows me to anticipate the decisive moments in front of my lens.
